Introduction:  The Sikasar Hydel Power Station is situated at Sikasar on Perry River which is about 54 km away from Gariaband Tahsil and 150 km from Raipur. The project is designed and developed to utilize the excess inflow in the reservoir during monsoon months for “Incidental Power Generation” and the discharged water is utilized for irrigation purpose.

 

Geographical Location: The geographical location is at Latitude 20°31’14.25” N & Longitude 82°19’02.64” E [Turbine Floor  is at 326.20 Meters from MSL.

 

Capacity: The total capacity of the plant is 7 MW, which consists of 2 units, each of 3.5 MW Capacity.

 

Manufacturer:

·       Power House Civil Work was carried out by M/s SEW Construction Ltd.

·       Power House Electrical & Mechanical work was carried out by M/s BHEL.

 

Commissioning dates:

·       Unit-I  - 03.09.2006

·       Unit-II - 03.09.2006

 

Project Cost:

·               Project Cost of the Power House was ` 32.94 Crores.

 

Salient Feautures:

 

         The Turbine is vertical Kaplan with four adjustable runner blades, rated output 3650 KW, rated speed 375 rpm and rated discharge 17.418 m3/sec (625 Cusec) for single unit on rated head 22.7 Meters. The Full Reservoir Level is 406.30 and Minimum Draw Down Level is 392.12 meters.

        Generator rated output is 3.5 MW and generating voltage is 6.6 KV. M/s Crompton Greaves make Generator Transformer of capacity 5.0 MVA is provided for each unit to deliver the power at 33 KV.

 

Power Evacuation: The generated power is evacuated through 33KV Dhawalpur - I & II feeders.
